    Inventions and discoveries:

    1. The cement: The builders in Greek (200 B.C) invents the cement. The secret of this material is the lime which binds sand, water and clay. The Romans subsequently use finely ground volcanic lava in place of clay.

    2. The stirrup: The nomadic horsemen use some form of looped fabric to support their feet. But the first direct evidence of a stirrup is a loop for the big toe used by Indian cavalry from the 2nd century BC. In Chinese they trasform the toe loop into a metal stirrup for the whole foot.

    Cement: c.200 BC
Greek builders on the coast of Turkey evolve cement in about 200 BC as a structural material made of lime wich bind sand, water and clay.
Later the Romans use volcanic lava in place of clay. Their cement was very strong. The romans used it for made Roman roads, aqueducts,...

    Paper
Paper is produced in China in the second century AD, by the imperial court “ Cai Lun”. It was made from rags and fibres of mulberry, laurel and grass.

    astrolabe c.140 BC
The astrolabe is arguably the world's oldest scientific instrument.it is often credited as a loading greek astronomer of the 2nd century BC.The astrolabe measures the angle of the sun or of a star above the horizon and provides a chart showing the heavens at differing latitudes and times.the instrument is therefore of great use to sailors, until eventually replaced in the 18th century by the sextant.

    the discovery paper:AD105
Chinese tradition attributes one of the most wide-reaching of inventions to a eunuch at the imperial court, cai lun may have presentes the emperor with a new substance Fragments of it made from rags and the fibres of mulberry, laurel and Chinese grass

  4. Machine tools, gun barrels and cylinders: AD 1774-1800
John Wilkinson invents in 1774 a machine which can drill through the length of a cast-iron cylinder to create the barrel of a cannon. In 1775 Wilkinson delivers to Birmingham the first of cylinders he will bore for the firm of Boulton and Watt.

A spreading seafloor: from the 1960s

In 1960 it is discovered that the crust beneath the ocean is thinner than beneath the land. The explanation is that molten material is forced up through these rifts to from new ocean floor.

    *Discovery of paper:
Cai Lun was a eunuch in the imperial chinese court.
He presented the substance to the emperor and paper is produced from that with rags and the fibres of mulberry, laurel and Chinese grass.

    *Distillation:
The principle of distillation has in commun with the procces of alcohol. it boils at a lower temperature than water. In the simplest form of still, the alcohol vapour condenses on a cold surface held in the steam.
Finally involve channelling the steam into a separate condenser.

*Pulley: is a wheel technology and is a tied with a rope wheel to make raise an object. Now with technology the pulleys has been improve.

*Cement: The builders in Greek found a new material the secret was the lime, water and clay. The romans improved it and used it to make their acueducts. Of that appeared the cement.

    Archimedes:
Archimedes how worked in siracusa make a lot of interestin invents and descober many thinks two of them are the screw of archimedes that can leve the water of the large ships in few hours and he discobert the resistence that the water have to others materials that are sumerged in it.

  7. TEXT 1
The discovery of paper: AD 105

The discovery of paper attributes a eunuch at the imperial court, by the name of Cai Lun.
Cai Lun have presented the emperor with a report on the new substance, but certainly paper is produced in China.

    TEXT 2
    Cement: c.200 BC

Builders in Greek cities evolve cement as a structural material. The secret of the new material is the lime which binds sand, water and clay. The cement of Rome is the strongest mortar in history until the development of Portland cement.

The inventions I´ve read about are the distilation which was easy, because alcohol boiled at a lower temperature than water and a cold object was held on top of the boiling alcohol so it would condense.

Another invention is the invention of cement or concrete which was used in many ancient cultures like in ancient egypt, mesopotamia orromans which made it more perfect adding lime to the mixture and deing used in roman roads.

The last invention I´ve read is paper which was invented in ancient china and the paper was made out of grass, fibre of mulberry and laurel

  9. Pergamum and parchment: 2nd century BC
In the 2nd century BC, in Egypt, people begin using alternatives to papyrus. In Pergamun, they started to use the parchment (it’s a form of leather).
The both sides of the parchment were treated and rubbed until smooth and form a flexible double surface.

    Cement: c.200 BC
In Greece on the coast of Turkey (and in particular Pergamun) was invented the cement (this thing is a structural material who replaced other materials which were worse than cement).

  11. Astrolabe: c.140 BC

The astrolabe (meaning 'star taker') is arguably the world's oldest scientific instrument. It is often credited as an invention to Hipparchus, a leading Greek astronomer of the 2nd century BC.

The astrolabe measures the angle of the sun or of a star above the horizon and provides a chart (in later examples often beautifully engraved in metal) showing the heavens at differing latitudes and times.

    Windmills: 7th - 15th century AD

The windmills developed in Persia for grinding corn have horizontal sails, like the blades of a helicopter, directly linked by a vertical shaft to the millstones turning below.

Windmills are first mentioned in Europe in the 12th century. There is a reference to one in France in 1180, and a few years later to another in England.

  12. Cement:c.200 BC

The Greeks of Asia Minor builders cement developed in 200 BC as a structural material. The new material was composed of lime to bind to the sand, water and clay.
The Romans subsequently replaced the clay dust from volcanic lava and got a much stronger cement.
With this cement called were able to build large concrete arches, aqueducts and roads.

Pergamum and parchment: 2nd century BC.

During the second century BC the Greeks of Asia also less invented an alternative to papyrus. The substance was in the vellum (the word derives from the city of Pergamum). It was leather.
The leather had been used for writing from 2500 BC but only one of its sides. The novelty was that the scroll was treated on both sides.

  13. Text2
Greek sailors from the 4th century BC, knew how to get salt water, boil your water and produce a suspension of a sponge in water vapor.
The distillation of alcohol makes it boils at a temperature lower than that of water. The steam is condensed in a cold environment. The steam pipe is made in a separate condenser cooling and separating the water vapor (so difficult) of alcohol.
